The Institutional Giving Manager (Grants Writer) advances the mission of Community of Hope by raising funds from foundations, government grantors, and corporations. The manager leads program and finance staff to shape compelling proposals and accurate reports to ongoing funders and new prospective funders. This is a fulltime position.
Highlighted Duties and Responsibilities:
Writes solid foundation proposals for review and approval by program and senior staff.
Convenes the finance and program leadership to prepare proposals.
Manages ongoing communication with funders, including timely follow-up and reports.
Support program and finance staff to ensure fulfillment of grant objectives and management of private funds raised.
Researches prospects for foundation, corporate, and government grants.
Reviews and edits grant reports for certain grants managed by program staff.
Develop and implement, along with VP, Development and Communications, an annual institutional fundraising plan.
Masters of Public Health (or similar Master’s degree) or equivalent experience required.
Minimum of four years fundraising experience in institutional giving required.
Excellent persuasive writing, grammar, research, proofreading, and copy editing skills.
Excellent attention to detail in crafting grant narratives, program logic models, program evaluations, grant reports, and other grant documents.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
Strong analytical and outcomes-based evaluation skills required.
Experience with budget creation preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills required.
Strong organizational skills, with proven ability to meet deadlines required.
Experience in state and federal grant writing highly preferred.
Experience in healthcare or housing programs strongly preferred.
Previous experience researching government and private funding preferred.
