Fonkoze USA seeks an inspiring leader and proven fundraiser to lead its Washington DC-based non-profit organization, which raises funds for and educates the US public on one of Haiti’s leading poverty alleviation institutions.
The Family of Fonkoze Organizations
Understanding Fonkoze USA requires an understanding of the Fonkoze Family. Fonkoze is a family of organizations that work together to alleviate poverty in Haiti. It provides the financial and non-financial services to empower Haitians–primarily women–to lift their families out of poverty. Fonkoze’s vision is for a Haiti where people, standing together, shoulder to shoulder, have pulled themselves out of poverty. Since its founding in 1994, Fonkoze has grown to be a globally recognized institution serving women in some of the poorest and most rural parts of Haiti.
The three members of the Fonkoze Family include Fonkoze USA and its Haitian partners, Sèvis Finansye Fonkoze, S.A. (SFF), and Fondasyon Kole Zepòl (the Fonkoze Foundation). SFF is Fonkoze’s microfinance institution with 44 branches throughout Haiti, 70,000 borrowers and over 200,000 savings clients. Fonkoze Foundation provides development services to SFF’s clients and other community members. These services include adult education, health services, small enterprise development, and a graduation program for the poorest of the poor. Fonkoze USA collaborates with both institutions in Haiti by serving as a liaison to supporters around the world and raising funds to support the work on the ground in Haiti.
As a US 501(c)3 organization, Fonkoze USA is dedicated to securing financial and technical assistance for its Haitian partners and educates the US public about Fonkoze’s work in Haiti. For more information about our family of organizations, see www.fonkoze.org.
