The Development Coordinator position is a wonderful opportunity for a driven and talented fundraising professional to join a strong Chapter team. This position is responsible for contributing to the financial growth of the Capital Chapter’s Signature Events fundraising efforts, including the DC Hope Gala and The Real Estate Games.
The Development Coordinator will organize, implement and expand the Gala and Real Estate Games programs by building and strengthening links to potential and existing donors that grow the Chapter’s revenue through corporate, individual and family, and other community involvement. The key focus of this position is overseeing the auction and After Party for the 2.2M Hope Gala and coordinating the logistics and committee support for The Real Estate Games.
·Support and maintain the vision, mission, priorities, and guiding principles of JDRF. Understand the strategic direction and purpose of the organization and support the Chapter’s fundraising strategies and business needs.
·Help formulate and implement strategies for growth in chapter fundraising and development activities, specifically focusing on team and committee participation for the Real Estate Games and the auction for the Gala.
Develop relationships with key volunteers and committee members and solicit and procure auction items and build upon auction packages.
Manage and maintain accurate and complete financial records for each event as appropriate to comply with the Chapter Accounting Manual and SOPs. Work closely with office manager and team to manage Gala auction financial records and produce accurate and timely donor acknowledgments.
Utilize software systems to track and analyze data related to signature events and donors. Conduct benchmarking annually to ensure procurement is on track. Create all descriptions for auction items, input information into databases and ensure accurate inventory of all items and certificates.
Plan and coordinate meetings, agendas, and activities. Prepare presentations, materials, and reports. Assist in the functioning of the Chapter’s daily operations, projects, and tasks.
Provide logistical support including working with vendors and volunteers for all signature events programs. Manage the Real Estate Games logistics and communication with team participants. Coordinate auction and raffle.
Steward donors and volunteers in a timely and meaningful way.
Respond to and follow through on inquiries, needs, complaints and/or issues in a prompt and courteous manner.
Maintain a good understanding of JDRF’s mission and research priorities.
Minimum of 2-3 years of fundraising experience or relevant business/volunteer experience.
Experience in fundraising, organizing, and planning special events; proven track record of planning and implementing a fundraising auction or a similar program is preferred.
Must have an understanding of donor be detail-oriented and able to juggle multiple deadlines and manage both internal and external communications in a timely fashion.
Ability to build professional and effective relationships with all levels of staff, volunteers and donors.
Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills required.
Experience with computer systems and various databases. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is a must.
Experience using all social media platforms, primarily Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter
