The Aga Khan Foundation USA is seeking an Officer to support the development and execution of the Foundation’s newly developing Planned and Legacy Giving (PLG) Program. This position is based in Washington DC and is available immediately.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Support the growth of the newly launched PLG program by managing operational, stewardship, and marketing activities;
Implement program activities across the country (direct mail, regional events, volunteer activities, etc.);
Respond to donor and volunteer inquiries;
Provide orientation on PLG to volunteers and professionals in the field;
Manage AKF’s PLG asset portfolio with regular review and analysis for reporting;
Maintain guidelines, systems, and database management for the program;
Develop content and draft marketing/informational materials for the program;
Administer AKF USA’s Deferred Giving Program (a component of the PLG Program), where donors gift and support life insurance policies owned by the Foundation:
Coordinate with donors, volunteers, applicants, insurance agents and brokers;
Process donor contributions and maintain disbursements to insurance companies;
Focus on converting existing Whole Life policies to Guaranteed Life policies;
Assist with preparation of schedules for audits.
Analyze and prepare reports on status and progress of the PLG Program;
Assist in other ways, as required, in the effective administration of the PLG Program.

Bachelors Degree preferably in Business, Finance, Fundraising or related field;
Prior knowledge of fundraising, specifically Planned Giving Programs is desirable;
Prior knowledge of life insurance is highly desirable;
Minimum three-year experience in fundraising, marketing or finance;
Proficiency with Microsoft Office with an emphasis in Excel;
Be detailed oriented with strong analytic skills;
Excellent inter-personal and communications skills;
Excellent organizational and leadership skills;
Ability to manage multiple work streams with multiple timelines;
Ability to work in a fast paced, culturally diverse environment.
